Acting with Passion Top-Up

You must have completed the 4-day course with Niki previously.

There is nothing more exhilarating than feeling totally alive onstage in every moment. Can you count on arriving at this feeling every time you act?

Niki Flacks’ ACTING WITH PASSION is a ground-breaking approach to accessing emotions on cue.

• Produce the physical freedom of a spontaneous, responsive body.

• Develop rich, emotional access on cue.

• Quiet the critical voice in your head.

• Grounded in neuroscience and mind-body connection, Niki’s work is unparalleled, transformative, and completely unique.

You will find yourself acting with joy and ease that often seems out of reach.

You will leave the workshop with a set of physical and vocal cues that give you the confidence, even under pressure, to be fully alive and ‘in the moment'.

Many actors have described it as ‘magic' — finally giving you access to 'emotions on cue.’

TO PREPARE
Please prepare 3 confidently memorized monologues. You can gender-bend, go classic or contemporary. 2.5 minutes to 4 minutes is ideal, but don’t worry if you are above or below this. Did we mention they must be confidently memorized?!

Spend 2days with Niki for her top-up class. Dive back in and brush up your skill.

FAQs

How many of the sessions do I attend each week? (UK)

There are 3 sessions in total - an afternoon and evening session on a weekday, and a Saturday class. New information is introduced on the Saturday. We suggest attending all 3 to get the most out of the training, but understand that is not always possible, in which case you could attend one of the single weekday sessions (3.30pm or 6pm) and the Saturday. It is not advised to miss the Saturday session.

What happens if I need to defer a Module?

Once you have signed up and paid your deposit, you have access to all three modules at a time that suits you. Whilst most people tend to do their 3 modules one after the other, occasionally an actor may book a job, or life happens, and you need to put it on hold. Let us know that you need to defer, and when you would like to jump back in, and we will find a place for you.

What currencies do you accept?

You are able to pay in your local currency to a local business banking institution in Australia, UK, EU and USA. We use Wise for international payments, and can accomodate most currencies this way. Contact us if you wish to pay in another currency. Read more about paying by credit card with Wise.

How does the year-long course work? (UK)

The course is divided into three modules of eight weeks each. The course is designed to give you all the information you need during one weekday session plus the Saturday session. You are, however, welcome to attend both weekday sessions depending on your availability. Our focus is on offering you high quality information rather than the quantity of time we take to do it, so classes may run longer or shorter on occasion.

Who are the year-long course tutors? (UK)

The course is designed and taught by Impulse Artistic Director Scott Williams with occasional substitution, principally by Trine Garrett, Jacqui-Lee Pryce or Michael Gilhooley.

How big are the class sizes?

Class sizes vary, but are unlikely to consist of more than 20 people. Between eight and 15 has been the average over the 20 years that we’ve been training actors.

Because the Technique is experiential, classes are practical and are, we believe, unique in the amount of personal tuition and feedback you’ll receive.

Where do I begin with the Year-Long course?

The majority of students will begin with Module 1, Living Truthfully. Even if you’ve done an introductory course with us, or elsewhere, it can only give you a flavour of what the Technique can deliver.

Students who have already have a significant body of experience with The Impulse Company may begin with either Module 2 – The Given Set of Circumstances – or Module 3 – A State of Aliveness, using it as a showcase opportunity, with Scott’s agreement.
